So I built up a little money to buy some items but everytime I tried to purchase anything I got the same reply of "you cant buy that item here" even if the game gives me a command prompt and i repeat it. I found the command list and i will try other similar commands but as of this posting not I have been unable to buy items.

So I have tried to purchase simple ammunition that I have plenty of gold for. I used the listed commands for buying items. Every attempt was answered with the same response of "you can't buy that item here" please help.

It has to be available in the shop you are in. Specific shops only have specific items. Which shop are you in?

I have the same problem. It says "this shop sells 3 battle axe" but when I try to buy it it it says "you can't buy that item here". I definitely have enough gold so why can't I buy it?

Sometimes it has problems recognizing the exact name. But you can also specify items based on the ordinal or cardinal number. So you can try "buy first".
If you let me know your support ID (the name of your party) I can also look into your account to work out more specific information.

I have also tried all of the above to no avail. I have so far been completely unable to”purchase” , “buy” , or “take” any item listed in any shop and always get the same answer “you cannot buy that item in this shop”.
I have also tried to use the equip and ask to use commands without success. Do I need some sort of trading permission because I have plenty of gold. Can’t imagine what the problem is.

I think I've worked it out. Assuming you are "Full Elephants of the Way", I cloned your user and tried it myself. I went into the munitions shop just north of you. First thing on the list was "+1 dart". When I said "buy plus one dart", I got the "you cannot buy" message. When I say "buy dart", it bought it just fine.
So, the systems makes sure there is only one "flavor" of an item in a shop. So if there is a +1 dart, there won't be a +2 dart. So you can just say the name of the item without all the rest.
That being said, I'll see if I can make it a bit smarter. What it heard the first time was "buy plus 1 dark". I can do some work and strip out any spoken pluses or minuses. The fuzzy logic should match "dark" to "dart" after that. Also, I can get the "you cannot buy" message to repeat what it heard, so you can work out where it is going wrong and possibly self correct.

Hi I have tried what you suggested prior to getting in touch and every other conceivable combination of commands but I am still unable to purchase anything having tried again just now.
For clarity, when I ask, game says my team name is Full Elephants party.
My location is zero degrees zero minutes north and zero degrees 1 minute east having been defeated by a band of ghouls last night.

OK. I found you now. My local user database was out of date. But, again, I cloned your user, said "buy javelin" and "buy hand axe" and both worked. I even switched to the Google Home and it still worked. I'm not quite sure what is going on. However, I rolled out some of the updates I worked on yesterday, which should improve things anyways. I also noticed, while testing from my Android phone, that you get actual buttons there to press to buy stuff. That can be a fallback if you really get stuck.
